RECORDER METHOD FEATURES
Recorder Pizza for Schools contains more than songs. Students are gracefully guided through note reading on the staff, rhythmic understanding, practical exercises, and basic music theory concepts including scales and modes. The songs include familiar and not-so-familiar children’s songs, American & Latin American folk tunes, patriotic hymns & anthems, and classical arrangements for beginners that students will appreciate and enjoy.
Students complete worksheets and exercises that help them read music notation more confidently and understand music theory more deeply. The song progression and sequence advances at a gradual pace that things don’t move too fast for most students. Students can play the songs as soloists, in small groups, or as a whole class, a capella or using fun backing tracks. “Challenge” pieces are inserted throughout the levels for students who progress more quickly and seek more advanced repertoire.
Once the class completes the whole course, teacher and students can submit their work and earn funds toward their culminating class Pizza Party!
